Sew Nyukcharong Chu Power Corporation plans Hydro Electric Power Plant in Arunachal Pradesh

Sew Nyukcharong Chu Power Corporation Limited is planning to develop a 96 MW hydro electric power project on the Nyukcharong Chu River in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The project is estimated to cost 1000 crore. The project will involve the construction of a dam and a power house.

The dam will be 54 meters high and will have a length of 232 meters. The dam will create a reservoir with a capacity of 30 million cubic meters. The power house will have four turbines with a capacity of 24 MW each.

The project is expected to generate 353.00 million units of electricity per annum. The electricity will be sold to the Arunachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (APSEB).

As on November 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
