Sun Power on the Grid: NHPC Seeks Connected Solar Projects Up to 1.2 GW

NHPC Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Power, has issued a tender inviting developers to set up grid-connected solar power projects in India. The total capacity for these projects can be up to 1200 MW (1.2 GW).

These projects can be set up anywhere in the country, but they must be connected to the interstate transmission system. This means that the electricity generated by these projects will be fed into the national grid and can be supplied to any part of the country.

Developers interested in bidding for these projects will need to acquire the land required for the project themselves. The deadline for submitting bids is June 29, 2024.

This tender is a significant opportunity for solar power developers in India. It will help to increase the country's solar power capacity and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.
