Under the Centre’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), a ₹107 crore project has been launched in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district to upgrade and strengthen the local power distribution network. The initiative includes installing 701 new transformers (ranging from 25 kVA to 250 kVA), upgrading existing units, and laying new high- and low-tension transmission lines. According to HPSEB Superintending Engineer Ashish Kapoor, survey work is currently underway. Once complete, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to eliminate low-voltage issues and deliver a smoother, more reliable power supply across the district.
