The Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) Phase-II project has achieved a major milestone with the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Kaveri completing its underground drive and breaking through at Kilpauk Medical College Station. Constructed by Larsen & Toubro, the 685-meter downline tunneling stretch from Chetpet was finished in just eight months. Navigating this complex underground route required precision engineering to operate safely near existing Phase-I metro structures. This successful breakthrough underscores CMRL's advanced execution capabilities in dense urban settings.
