The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has stepped up efforts to accelerate the development of the East-West Dedicated Freight Corridor (EWDFC) through a high-level coordination meeting with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and South East Central Railway (SECR).
The discussions focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration, addressing key operational and infrastructure challenges, and establishing a coordinated roadmap for faster project execution. The initiative aims to ensure smooth implementation and timely completion of the strategically important freight corridor.
Once completed, the EWDFC is expected to enhance freight transportation efficiency, reduce logistics bottlenecks, improve supply chain connectivity, and support industrial growth across key regions. The collaborative approach highlights the importance of coordinated planning among government agencies and railway stakeholders in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects that strengthen India's logistics network and economic competitiveness.
