Marking a major construction milestone for Nagpur Metro Phase-II, MahaMetro has officially commenced span launching operations along the Jamtha–Butibori stretch of National Highway 44 (NH-44).
The work is part of Reach-1A, which encompasses an approximately 17.6 km elevated viaduct running from Ashokvan Metro Station near the Outer Ring Road to the MIDC ESR Station. Once complete, the broader 19 km Orange Line extension will connect Khapri Metro Station directly to the industrial hub of Butibori.
To expedite project delivery, MahaMetro has deployed five launching girders across the corridor, including three currently operating within the MIDC Butibori industrial zone. Civil works initially began in January 2025 and encompass a total of 623 spans for Reach-1A, featuring complex structural engineering to cross the Nagpur–Wardha railway lines.
