NMRC is seeking approval to extend the Aqua Line Metro corridor

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has submitted a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) to local authorities, seeking approval for the extension of the Aqua Line Metro corridor from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden stations.

Pending in-principle approval from the Noida Authority and the Greater Noida Authority, the DPR is slated for presentation at NMRC's upcoming board meeting. Subsequently, the DPR will undergo scrutiny for approval from the Uttar Pradesh government and the Central authorities. Notably, Botanical Garden station currently serves as an interchange station for the Blue Line and the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro.

The extended line will facilitate seamless interchanges between NMRC's Aqua Line and the Magenta and Blue Lines of the Delhi Metro at Botanical Garden station. Covering a total length of 11.56 km, the project requires an investment of Rs 2,254.35 crore. The proposed extension aims to enhance connectivity for residents within Noida and Greater Noida, integrating them into the expansive Delhi Metro network.

The new line will feature eight elevated stations, including Botanical Garden, Noida Sector-44, Noida Office, Sector-97, Sector-105, Sector-108, Sector-93, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, and the pre-existing Sector-142 station. This strategic expansion is poised to bring enhanced accessibility and convenience to commuters across the region.
