Pimpri Chinchwad Leaders Push for Metro Project Revisions

Following the submission of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by Maha Metro for the proposed Nigdi–Chakan Metro corridor, local leaders in Pimpri Chinchwad have called for key revisions to enhance commuter convenience and address urban infrastructure concerns.

In a joint meeting with PCMC and Maha Metro officials, MP Shrirang Barne, MLAs Mahesh Landge, Shankar Jagtap, Uma Khapre, and Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode proposed several changes, including:

Improved integration at Bhujbal Chowk and Wakad junction, Removal of obstructions along the Bhosari stretch, including possible demolition of the Bhosari flyover, Provision for adequate parking near Metro stations, A review of the Nashik Phata–Bhosari alignment, Evaluation of the Godown Chowk–Chakan model for potential application

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that the inputs from public representatives would be incorporated and the revised report sent to the state government for further action. A meeting with the Chief Minister will also be scheduled to discuss the proposed changes.
