Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several major railway infrastructure projects in the Waltair Division today, via remote link from Kurnool.
These projects aim to boost capacity, enhance safety, and ease congestion along critical railway corridors in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Key among them is the commissioning of a fourth railway line between Kottavalasa and Vizianagaram, designed to handle rising rail traffic in the region. A newly built rail flyover between Pendurthi and Kottavalasa will also be launched to streamline train operations and reduce delays.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two newly completed double-line sections: Kottavalasa–Boddavara and Boddavara–Shivalingapuram. These upgrades are expected to improve operational efficiency, support higher train speeds, and enhance service reliability.
Together, these projects represent a significant step toward modernising regional rail infrastructure and are expected to drive socio-economic development through improved connectivity.
