HBL Engineering has received regulatory approval from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for Version 4.0 of its Kavach system—an advanced train safety solution. This milestone positions HBL Engineering as the first Indian company to secure such certification, highlighting its leadership in railway safety technologies.
The approval paves the way for the execution of its robust order book, currently valued at ₹3,763.83 crore. Deliveries under these contracts are scheduled over the next 24 months, ensuring sustained revenue visibility and operational momentum in the medium term.
HBL Engineering is part of a select group of Indian firms implementing Kavach for Indian Railways, alongside KEC International, Kernex Microsystems, RailTel, and Siemens. Developed through a collaboration between RDSO and Indian industry, Kavach is designed to prevent train collisions and improve rail network safety using advanced signalling and automation technologies.
This regulatory nod not only enhances HBL Engineering’s competitive edge but also contributes to India’s broader objective of self-reliance in critical transport infrastructure.
