Secunderabad’s ₹700-Crore Facelift: On Track for December Finish

The ₹700-crore redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station is progressing steadily, with around 60 percent of the work already completed, according to South Central Railway officials.

Scheduled for completion by December, the project aims to transform the station into a world-class, airport-like facility equipped with modern infrastructure and enhanced passenger amenities. A key highlight of the redevelopment is its seamless integration with the metro network. Dedicated skywalks will directly connect Secunderabad East and West Metro stations to the railway station, enabling commuters to switch between train and metro services without navigating congested roads.

This integrated design is expected to significantly improve convenience and safety for passengers. Once completed, the upgraded station will stand among the most advanced railway hubs in India, reflecting global standards in infrastructure, connectivity, and user experience.

The project also underscores a broader push toward urban transport modernisation and multimodal integration, aimed at improving efficiency and ease of travel for thousands of daily commuters.
