Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) Awards Contract for E&M Works at Ernakulam South Metro Station

In a significant development, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to M/s Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Ltd. for the execution of electrical and mechanical (E&M) works at the property development areas of Ernakulam South Metro Station. The project, with a tender reference number of KMRL/PROC/TENDER/2023-24/014, is valued at INR 3,27,86,000/- and is expected to be completed within a six-month timeframe.

Project Overview

The primary objective of this project is to undertake the design, construction completion, testing, and commissioning of permanent works at the property development areas of Ernakulam South Metro Station. The scope of work encompasses a comprehensive range of E&M activities, including:

Design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of indoor and external lighting systems for common areas such as lift lobbies, staircases, etc.
Installation of electrical panels for both property development (PD) and common areas.
Implementation of fire protection measures, including fire pumps, hydrant and sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and an addressable fire alarm system for PD areas.
Installation of signage, talkback, and PA systems.
Implementation of a CO2 gas flooding system and DG set.

Project Significance

The successful completion of this project will contribute significantly to the overall development of the Ernakulam South Metro Station and its surrounding property development areas.
