The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has unveiled plans for a 772-acre residential development near the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, aimed at meeting rising housing demand driven by industrial expansion and urbanisation.
The project will offer residential plots and affordable housing, particularly for the economically weaker sections, along with core infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and sanitation.
Land acquisition is proposed across five villages in Kundana Hobli, Devanahalli Taluk:
Vishwanathapura – 410 acres, 13 guntas, Vajarahalli – 42 acres, 20 guntas, Beerasandra – 59 acres, 22 guntas, Shanappanahalli – 83 acres, 23 guntas, Managondanahalli – 177 acres, 12 guntas
Officials have confirmed that a formal land acquisition notification will be issued soon.
The move comes amid sensitivities around land acquisition in the region. A previous 1,777-acre project was scrapped following widespread farmer protests over the proposed acquisition of fertile agricultural land.
