Gandhinagar's Green Home: New MLA Complex Opens

On 23 October 2025, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a newly constructed residential complex for Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Gandhinagar.

Developed by the Roads and Buildings Department, the 28,576 sq. m complex in Sector 17 replaces the decades-old MLA quarters, offering modern three-BHK apartments equipped with contemporary amenities. Each unit spans 170.32 sq. m, is fully furnished, and features two lifts per block for enhanced convenience.

The complex comprises 216 residential units, of which 180 are fully furnished, and includes facilities such as a multipurpose hall, gymnasium, swimming pool, canteen, medical clinic, and dedicated parking for each unit. Environmental sustainability has been prioritised through features like rainwater harvesting systems and the plantation of 600 trees within the premises.

During the inauguration, Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, toured the new facility. The project represents a significant upgrade from the earlier MLA housing built in the 1990s, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing modern, eco-friendly residential infrastructure for public representatives.
