The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a call for bids for the construction of a South-East bypass around Azamgarh city in Uttar Pradesh.
The proposed bypass will span approximately 14.905 km, linking National Highway-28 (at chainage km 218.800) with the Purvanchal Expressway (at chainage km 247.850). The project, valued at ₹548.14 crore, will be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model.
The construction timeline is set at two years, followed by a five-year maintenance period. This infrastructure initiative is aimed at easing traffic congestion within Azamgarh city, improving connectivity between key highways, and boosting regional development by reducing travel time.
The last date for submission of bids is 13 November 2025.
