Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway: Ready to Roll

The 108-km Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, linking Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel Ring Road to Adhelai village near Bhavnagar, is nearly complete, with 98% of construction work finished.

Once operational, the expressway will cut travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera SIR to 40–45 minutes, significantly enhancing connectivity to Dholera Smart City, India’s first greenfield smart city. The region hosts major investments, including the Tata Group’s ₹91,000 crore semiconductor plant.

Key ongoing works include railway overbridge (ROB) crossings over the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) and Bhavnagar railway lines, completion of expansion joints, and the relocation of the GETCO Juval Rupavati substation. With most earthwork completed, the expressway is poised to serve as a catalyst for regional development and economic growth.
