Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually inaugurated a ₹55-crore road development project under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) in Udham Singh Nagar district on 25 September 2025.
The project involves the widening and strengthening of the 20-km Manunagar–Gadarpur–Dineshpur–Matkota–Haldwani motor road, which will be upgraded to a double-lane route. CM Dhami stated that the improved road will ease local commutes, reduce traffic congestion, and directly benefit nearly two lakh residents and farmers across the Terai region.
The upgraded connectivity is expected to lower transportation time and costs for raw materials, thereby supporting industrial growth and enhancing the region’s economic prospects.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for rapid infrastructure development and regional prosperity. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening road connectivity as a key driver of economic progress and quality of life improvements for citizens.
