The Union Transport Ministry has set aside Rs 5,500 crore to build a four-lane elevated road to Kaziranga National Park.
This 34-kilometer elevated road will be beneficial to the National Park's animals.
The elevated road would be built along NH-715 (formerly NH-37) in three locations, with a total length of 34.28 km and two tunnels, in Assam.
The work has been delegated to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), and the state Public Works department has already handed over the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the nodal road-building agency.
