MPIDC Greenlights Indore-Pithampur Corridor Development

The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has officially commenced the land registry process for the Indore–Pithampur Economic Corridor, a flagship initiative aimed at accelerating industrial and urban development in the region.

The first land registry was completed during Navratri, with two landowners from Bhainslay village registering 5.58 hectares in exchange for over 2 hectares of developed plots. Spanning 1,331 hectares across 17 villages—including Cordiabardi, Nainod, Rinjalay, Sindoda, and Tihi—the corridor will offer a mix of commercial, residential, industrial, and public/semi-public plots.

MPIDC Indore Executive Director Himanshu Prajapati highlighted the project’s participatory land pooling model, designed to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and shared prosperity. He noted that the initiative will empower local landowners while creating a foundation for industrial growth and modern infrastructure.

Officials consider the start of land registrations a major milestone in transforming the corridor into a vibrant industrial hub. In support of this model, the state cabinet had earlier amended land acquisition rules in March, allowing 60% of developed land to be returned to original landowners.
