Silchar-Saurashtra East-West Corridor's final stretch to be completed by June 2027

The Centre is advancing the Silchar-Saurashtra East-West Corridor, a 3,576.55 km national highway project vital for connectivity, commerce, and regional growth. With over 97% of the corridor completed, 3,480.62 km is finished, while 95.93 km remains under implementation or bidding.

Delays in West Bengal and Assam stemmed from pre-construction challenges such as land acquisition, environmental and forest clearances, financial constraints, and force majeure conditions. To accelerate progress, the government has streamlined land acquisition, enhanced the Parivesh Portal for faster approvals, enabled online clearances for road over/under bridges, and conducts regular stakeholder reviews. The revised completion date is June 2027."
