Smooth Landing Ahead: Greater Noida's Direct Airport Link

The Greater Noida Authority has proposed the construction of a critical 3-km road link to connect the city's existing 130-meter-wide corridor with the 120-meter-wide Yamuna City Road. This new link is aimed at significantly improving access to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.

The missing stretch has long created a bottleneck for commuters from Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad. The project is designed to provide seamless connectivity from Noida Extension to the greenfield airport, streamlining travel and reducing congestion. Once completed, the 130-meter-wide corridor—from Char Murti Chowk to Sirsa village (approximately 30 km)—will have a direct link to Yamuna City Road.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is expected within the next two months. The Authority is coordinating with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, as part of the proposed alignment falls under their jurisdiction.

Infrastructure enhancements under the plan also include the construction of a rotary at the Ghangola roundabout and an underpass near Sirsa village to facilitate crossing of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
