In a major push for regional infrastructure, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced a ₹4,600 crore greenfield expressway linking Agra and Gwalior. The six-lane high-speed corridor, announced during the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway inauguration, aims to heavily reduce transit times and boost interstate commerce.
Upon completion, the expressway will halve the current three-hour travel time between Agra and Gwalior to just 90 minutes. Furthermore, its integration with upcoming infrastructure networks will slash the journey between Delhi and Gwalior from seven hours down to nearly four. By seamlessly bridging Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, this project is positioned to stimulate economic investment, drive tourism, and catalyze industrial growth along the route.
