Two New Expressways to Transform Rajasthan

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the construction of two major Greenfield Expressways: the Kotputli–Kishangarh (181 km) and Beawar–Bharatpur (342 km) corridors.

These projects are part of a broader initiative announced in the 2023–24 state budget by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari, which includes nine expressways spanning 2,756 km. As part of the state’s ‘Vision 2047’, the government aims to complete five of these expressways by 2030.

According to officials, the Public Works Department (PWD) will soon begin land acquisition for both routes. Construction tenders are expected to be floated by the end of this fiscal year or early next.

A senior PWD official stated:“We have received the necessary approval from the Chief Minister to build two of the nine proposed Greenfield Expressways. The land acquisition process will now begin.”

Land acquisition will be conducted under Sections 4, 11, and 19 of the Rajasthan Land Acquisition Act, 2014, and is expected to take six to eight months before the tendering phase begins.
