Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is seeking wind power developers for the establishment of 500 MW capacity wind power projects in India through a tender process known as SECI-Tranche-XVII. The objective is to engage developers in setting up projects under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The selected wind power developer will undertake the responsibility of establishing ISTS-connected wind power projects in India on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. This includes the development of necessary transmission infrastructure up to the interconnection/delivery point for supplying power to SECI. Additionally, the developer will handle tasks such as land identification, project installation, ownership, obtaining connectivity, and securing mandatory approvals.
The bid submission deadline for interested developers is set for 08 July, 2024. This timeline allows potential bidders ample time to prepare and submit their proposals for consideration.
Participation in this tender presents an opportunity for developers to contribute to India's renewable energy goals while also gaining access to a significant portion of the country's wind power market. Successful bidders will not only secure a contract with SECI but also play a crucial role in expanding the renewable energy infrastructure in India.
Given the increasing focus on renewable energy globally, particularly in India, this tender underscores the country's commitment to harnessing wind power as a sustainable energy source. Through initiatives like SECI-Tranche-XVII, India aims to accelerate its transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy future.
