Engie India has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 300 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity with NTPC, following its successful bid in REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited's (RECPDCL) auction for 1,250 MW ISTS-connected solar projects (Tranche I). The winning tariff for the project was set at ₹2.55/kWh.
The agreement was formalised in the presence of NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh and ENGIE’s Senior Executive Vice President Paulo Almirante, who underscored both companies' commitment to enhancing grid resilience, accelerating India’s clean energy transition, and delivering sustainable impact at scale.
“Our focus remains clear: delivering world-class renewable solutions and partnerships that create lasting value for communities and the planet,” said ENGIE in a statement.
This follows Engie India’s earlier 100 MW PPA with PTC India, strengthening the company’s renewable footprint. With more than 2.3 GW of renewable capacity now under operation and construction in India, ENGIE continues to scale through strategic collaborations that support the country’s net-zero ambitions.
