Jakson's ₹8,000 Crore Solar Bet on Madhya Pradesh

Jakson Engineers, a subsidiary of the Jakson Group, is set to invest more than ₹8,000 crore in establishing a state-of-the-art, six GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh — the largest solar manufacturing investment in the state to date.

The project will span 110 acres in Maksi Phase II and be developed in two phases. Phase I, involving an investment of ₹2,000 crore, will include the installation of three GW of solar module and three GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, with production expected to commence by May and September 2026, respectively.

Phase II, with an investment exceeding ₹6,000 crore, will expand the facility with a six GW solar wafer manufacturing plant and an additional three GW each of modules and cells, significantly strengthening India's domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.

Gagan Chanana, CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, emphasized the company’s integrated “four-in-one” business model — covering manufacturing, EPC, project development, and O&M — which is designed to reduce costs and enhance self-reliance in the solar sector. Madhya Pradesh was selected for its strategic central location and investor-friendly policies.

The facility is expected to generate over 1,000 construction jobs and create around 1,400 permanent employment opportunities upon completion.
