Nordex x Tamil Nadu: A ₹1,000 Crore Boost for Wind Energy

Nordex India has laid the foundation for a new expansion unit in Vengal to manufacture wind energy components.

The project builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Guidance Tamil Nadu during the TN Rising Europe event in Germany in September 2025, coinciding with M. K. Stalin’s visit to the country. The expansion is expected to involve an investment of around ₹1,000 crore and generate approximately 2,500 new jobs. According to Guidance Tamil Nadu, the project moved from initial commitment to ground-breaking within just seven months, reflecting strong investor confidence in the state’s industrial and renewable energy potential.

The new facility will strengthen Tamil Nadu’s capabilities in wind energy component manufacturing, positioning the state to capitalise on emerging global opportunities in the renewable energy sector. With a proposed European Union–India Free Trade Agreement under discussion, Tamil Nadu is strategically placed to attract further international investments in renewable energy and related industries, reinforcing its role as a hub for sustainable industrial development.
