Renewable solutions provider Suzlon Group has successfully secured a 642 MW wind power project in Andhra Pradesh from ABC Cleantech (ACPL), a subsidiary of Evren, a new development platform formed by Brookfield in partnership with Axis Energy in India.
The contract entails the installation and commissioning of 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) featuring a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower, each with a rated capacity of three MW. Suzlon will also be entrusted with comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services post-commissioning. This substantial project is expected to supply electricity to approximately 528,000 households and reduce around 2.087 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Demonstrating a commitment to supporting Evren in augmenting their green energy portfolios and advancing India's renewable energy objectives, Suzlon aims to utilize its expertise and operational capabilities in the development and operation of a high-quality clean energy portfolio in India. Evren, in collaboration with Suzlon, has set an initial target of constructing over six GW of renewable energy assets within the next two to three years, focusing on the most resource-rich states in the country.
Suzlon's turbines incorporate time-tested doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, ensuring efficient integration into the utility network to meet grid requirements. This strategic partnership aligns with Suzlon's vision of contributing to the growth of sustainable energy solutions in India.
