AMPIN Energy Transition has announced plans to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in West Bengal to strengthen the state’s solar energy infrastructure.
The investment includes approximately Rs 700 crore for establishing a 1–2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility and Rs 300 crore for developing solar power plants. The company is currently identifying suitable land within industrial parks, with the manufacturing unit expected to span 15–20 acres. The project is projected to generate around 1,500 direct and indirect jobs, supporting regional employment and skill development.
AMPIN, which operates more than 5 GW of renewable energy assets across 22 states—including solar, wind, battery storage, and hybrid systems—aims to expand its footprint in Eastern India through this initiative. The new facility will help strengthen domestic solar value chains, reduce reliance on imported components, and support India’s broader clean energy goals.
This planned investment is expected to accelerate renewable energy adoption in West Bengal and contribute to long-term emissions reduction in the state.
