Jawahararpur Ignites 2x660MW Super Critical Power Station in Uttar Pradesh

Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. Is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of U.P Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (A 100% subsidiary of UPRVUNL). 2x660MW Super Critical Thermal Power Station Jawaharpur is being installed by Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd on EPC Basis. The EPC contract has been awarded to M/s Doosan Power System India Pvt. Ltd.

Jawaharpur Power Station is located in Malawan village, Distt- Etah, Uttar Pradesh Which is about 47 km from Agra. Agra is connected by air/rail and road route from other major cities.

The Jawaharpur super thermal power station is a 1.32GW coal-fired power project under construction in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

The two-unit facility is being developed and will be operated by Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (JVUNL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL).

The 1.3GW facility is expected to operate at a plant load factor of 85%. It is expected to generate approximately 1.93 million tonnes (Mt) of coal ash a year which will be utilised by the cement factories.

The project will spread over 865 acre of land. Water will be used from Malawan-Rajwaha distributary of Lower Ganga Canal.The required coal of 5.38 mtpa will be sourced from Saharpur - Jamarpani coal block of Rajmahal Coal Mines in Jharkhand.

The project will be implemented on the basis of Case - 2 Tariff based competitive bidding process for procurement of power.
