6.5 Lakhs Stronger: Honda Drives Growth with Gujarat Plant Expansion

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has recently unveiled its third assembly line at the Vithalapur plant in Gujarat, elevating the overall production capacity by 6.5 lakh units.

In addition to the assembly lines, HMSI's Gujarat facility boasts a dedicated engine line crucial for the production of global engines, specifically for the 250cc and above category of two-wheelers. These engines cater to international markets, including Thailand, the US, Europe, and Japan.

As a key production hub for Honda on a global scale, India plays a vital role in the two-wheeler manufacturing sector. The Vithalapur facility is responsible for the production of popular models like Activa, as well as various scooter models such as Dio, Activa 125, and Dio 125. Serving both domestic and export markets, HMSI's Gujarat plant significantly contributes to the brand's global presence.

The expansion of production capacity through this strategic initiative is anticipated to substantially augment HMSI's annual production volumes, reinforcing its position in the competitive two-wheeler market.
