A New Era for Delhi Water: Chandrawal Plant Starts Trials

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has commenced trial operations for the modernized Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant. With a capacity of 105 million gallons per day (MGD), the facility is engineered to bolster the capital's long-term water security, optimize public service delivery, and mitigate the challenges of raw water ammonia pollution. Slated for full commissioning next month, the new infrastructure supersedes Delhi's legacy plants from 1935 and 1955, establishing a robust supply network for central and north Delhi.
