The proposed Jeans Park at Sanjeevarayana Kote on the outskirts of Ballari, Karnataka, has entered an active development phase, with tenders now floated for infrastructure works.
Envisioned as a dedicated hub under the ‘Made in Ballari’ initiative, the project aims to consolidate the region’s thriving denim industry by bringing stitching, washing, and sales operations under one roof. The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has acquired 154 acres at ₹40 lakh per acre, and work orders have already been issued.
“The goal is to centralize all denim-related activities and create a cohesive industrial ecosystem,” said Govind Naik, Assistant Executive Engineer, KIADB. To address environmental concerns, common effluent treatment plants (CETPs) will be set up as part of the project’s core infrastructure.
The Park is expected to accommodate over 500 units, boosting employment and exports from the region. Officials indicated that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi may lay the foundation stone, with project completion targeted within 12–18 months.
