Acer is making a comeback in India’s smartphone market through a strategic partnership with Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies.
Under a trademark licensing agreement with Acer Incorporated, Indkal will take charge of designing, manufacturing, and distributing Acer-branded smartphones across the country. This collaboration leverages Indkal’s robust local manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, aligning with Acer’s strategy to re-establish its footprint in the highly competitive Indian mobile market.
This marks Acer’s return to the smartphone segment after a considerable break. The upcoming device will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G chipset—potentially the first in its price segment to feature this processor. With a 5000 mAh battery promising up to 24 hours of usage, the smartphone is expected to strike a balance between high performance and long-lasting battery life, signaling Acer’s focus on delivering value and efficiency to Indian consumers.
