Efforts are underway to identify unproductive land between the Tamsi and Bheempur mandals in Adilabad district for the development of a large industrial park.
Supported by both the state and central governments, the proposed project aims to transform Adilabad into a major industrial hub by leveraging the region’s natural resources. These include water from the Proad River, mineral reserves such as manganese, iron, and limestone, and forest produce like timber and bamboo. The planned industrial park, spread over 10,000 acres, is expected to generate employment for local youth and stimulate economic growth in the region.
The area’s strategic location between Nagpur and Hyderabad further strengthens the proposal, along with planned infrastructure upgrades such as improved rail connectivity and the development of an airport near Adilabad town. The initiative also seeks to support local agriculture by promoting food-processing industries for crops such as tomatoes and soya, addressing long-standing demands from the region.
