Aerolloy Technologies Limited (ATL), a subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, has announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art Hot Rolling Mill from the USA. This advanced equipment is designed for producing Titanium Alloy plates and sheets, marking a significant expansion of ATL's manufacturing capabilities. The new mill will play a crucial role in meeting the growing demands of aerospace and defense industries, where high-integrity metal components are essential.
The acquisition represents a major milestone for ATL, complementing the production of Titanium Alloy ingots and billets at the company’s upcoming Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow. This facility is part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), a key initiative aimed at boosting India's defense manufacturing capabilities. With the addition of the Hot Rolling Mill, ATL can now offer a fully vertically integrated production process, covering the entire Titanium alloy product value chain—from raw materials to finished products like bars, rods, castings, and now, plates and sheets.
The new Hot Rolling Mill is particularly significant due to the limited availability of this technology worldwide, especially for producing Titanium plates and sheets. This advanced equipment will enable ATL to manufacture thinner titanium sheets, which are critical for aerospace applications, including aircraft wings and corrosion-resistant marine components. The ability to produce such specialized materials in India aligns with the country’s strategic goals and reduces reliance on foreign suppliers.
Sachin Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC Industries, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, "We are excited to announce the acquisition of this cutting-edge Hot Rolling Mill. This strategic investment not only advances our commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative but also strengthens our position in the global market. By expanding our manufacturing capabilities, we are enhancing our ability to produce critical and strategic materials, thereby improving our profitability and margins."
Overall, the acquisition of the Hot Rolling Mill positions Aerolloy Technologies as a leader in the production of high-performance Titanium Alloy components, reinforcing its role in the aerospace and defense sectors both domestically and internationally.
