Ambala Cantt's Drainage Dream: ₹57 Crore Approved

Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has announced the state government’s approval of ₹57.42 crore for the establishment of a comprehensive stormwater drainage system in Ambala Cantonment.

The project aims to provide long-term relief to residents in low-lying areas frequently affected by waterlogging during the monsoon season. While the existing system covers the Sadar area, it will now be expanded to other parts of Ambala Cantt, with new pumping stations planned for Simran Vihar, Defence Colony, and BC Bazaar. Additionally, drainage channels will be upgraded and newly constructed to ensure efficient water flow.

This initiative is expected to mitigate recurring water accumulation issues, enhance public safety and sanitation, and improve rainwater management across the town. The government reaffirmed its commitment to public welfare, noting that this project represents a significant step toward sustainable urban infrastructure in Ambala.
