Ambuja Cements (ACL) is embarking on a substantial investment of Rs 6,000 crore in renewable power projects by the fiscal year 2026. Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, the company aims to achieve a robust renewable power capacity of 1,000 MW. This ambitious endeavor encompasses a diverse array of solar and wind power projects strategically located in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
As part of its comprehensive expansion strategy, ACL is pursuing both organic and inorganic growth, aspiring to elevate its production capacity from the current 19 percent to an impressive 140 million tpa. With a vision for greener operations, the company has set a target of incorporating 60 percent of green power into its overall energy consumption.
The specific projects in this initiative include a 600 MW solar power project, a 150 MW wind power project in Gujarat, and a 250 MW solar power project in Rajasthan. Anticipated to be realized by FY 2026, these projects will augment the existing 84 MW of solar and wind power capacity.
In tandem with its renewable energy focus, ACL is fortifying its waste heat recovery systems (WHRS) capacity from the current 103 MW to an ambitious 397 MW over the next five years. This strategic move is poised to not only enhance sustainability but also contribute to reducing overall power costs.
With a comprehensive approach to growth and sustainability, ACL, in conjunction with its subsidiary ACC and the recently-acquired Sanghi Industries, proudly commands a substantial capacity of 74.6 MTPA. This impressive capacity is spread across eighteen integrated cement manufacturing plants and fourteen cement grinding units strategically located nationwide.
