Amit Shah Launches ₹66 Crore Development Push in Sanand

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on 10 September 2025 inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately ₹66 crore in Gujarat’s Sanand Assembly constituency, via video conferencing from New Delhi.

The projects span key sectors including roads, drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, and afforestation. Shah emphasized that long-standing irrigation and drinking water issues across 111 villages are being addressed, with Phase 1 of the solution nearing completion at a cost of ₹750 crore. An additional ₹1,000 crore worth of work is underway to ensure water access for households and agricultural fields.

Highlighting Sanand’s growing industrial significance, Shah noted that the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Region will position the area as Gujarat’s most industrially advanced tehsil. He also announced that Micron Technology’s chip manufacturing operations will commence soon in Sanand, following the launch of India’s first indigenous 32-bit processor, ‘Vikram-32’, unveiled at SEMICON India 2025.
