The Bandra West locality in Mumbai is set to get a modern public sports complex, as announced by local MLA Ashish Shelar.
The decision was taken during a review meeting with civic officials from the H West Ward, focused on assessing ongoing infrastructure projects in the area. The upcoming facility, modeled after the Andheri Sports Complex, will be developed on two land parcels near Carter Road. Land acquisition is expected to be completed within six weeks, following which the design and planning phase will commence.
According to Dinesh Pallewad, Assistant Commissioner, H West Ward, the complex will feature a range of sports and recreational amenities accessible to the public.
In addition, MLA Shelar discussed plans to reconstruct stormwater drains in the Carter Road and Gazdar Bandh areas to address flooding issues, which have intensified due to construction activity related to the Mumbai Coastal Road and Bandra-Worli Sea Link projects.
