Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop up to 7,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid solutions.
The MoU, signed in Amaravati, aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, which aims to achieve 160 GW of clean energy capacity. With an estimated investment of ₹49,000 crore, this initiative marks one of the state’s largest renewable energy commitments.
Under the agreement, TPREL will conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and project development, while the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) will facilitate site identification and infrastructure support.
The ICE policy seeks to attract ₹10 lakh crore in investments and generate 7.5 lakh jobs. TPREL CEO & Managing Director, Deepesh Nanda, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to deploying cutting-edge technology for large-scale renewable adoption. Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, and HRD, Nara Lokesh, welcomed Tata Power’s participation, highlighting its role in strengthening the state’s long-standing relationship with the Tata Group.
