Andhra Pradesh's Industries Minister, Gudivada Amarnath, presided over the virtual inauguration and laying of foundation stones for multiple industrial projects totaling Rs 4,178 crore from the Velagapudi state secretariat on February 14, 2024. Notable projects included initiatives by APIIC, AP MSME Corporation, the Birla Group, Reliance Energy, Hella Infra, and Vesuvius India.
The Minister highlighted the state government's steadfast support, resulting in the establishment of 2.5 lakh MSMEs over the past four and a half years. Additionally, construction has commenced on four new ports, collectively valued at Rs 20,000 crore. Furthermore, the government is spearheading the development of eleven industrial corridors nationwide, including key routes like Visakhapatnam-Chennai, Chennai-Bangalore, and Bangalore-Hyderabad.
Regarding infrastructure development, the government is overseeing the creation of 50 industrial clusters across 26 districts, with Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) already prepared.
Among the prominent projects, Birla Carbon India will invest Rs 1,700 crore to establish a manufacturing unit near Tirupati, offering employment to 250 individuals. Similarly, Hella Infra Marketing will invest Rs 260 crore to set up a PVC pipes and fittings unit, providing job opportunities for 260 people. Reliance Energy's plan to establish compressed biogas plants in eight locations involves an investment of Rs 1,024 crore. Additionally, Vesuvius India will invest Rs 250 crore in the state's industrial landscape.
