Apollo Expands West: New 250-Bed Hospital Lands in Pune

Apollo Hospitals has inaugurated a new 250-bed facility in Pune as part of its phased expansion across western India, with an additional 250 beds planned over the next two years. This expansion raises the company’s total capacity in the region to 1,000 beds, including its centres in Navi Mumbai and Nashik.

According to Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, the Pune facility is expected to achieve 50% occupancy within five months and reach break-even status in about 10 months. The healthcare group is also advancing its growth plans with upcoming facilities in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Apollo has committed an investment of Rs 8,000 crore to add 4,300 beds over the next four years, with MD Reddy highlighting the consistent demand for quality healthcare amid India’s significant shortage of hospital beds.
