The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated a Rs 239.91 crore drinking water project in Vinukonda town under the Jalabadhra initiative to supply piped water to nearly 14,000 households. Funded largely through the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) and AMRUT 2.0, the project aims to resolve chronic water shortages in an area where 90% of homes previously lacked dedicated infrastructure. Additionally, Rs 30 crore has been sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission to benefit 50,000–60,000 rural households in the surrounding region.
