Arunachal Pradesh has earmarked a total capacity of 570.75 MW across 35 operational small hydropower projects, attracting an estimated investment of Rs 7,000 crore. These projects are expected to create around 7,500 local jobs.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein led a meeting with developers to assess progress and reaffirm the state’s commitment to the Atmanirbhar Arunachal initiative and India's net-zero objectives. He emphasized the government’s support and stressed the importance of timely project completion.
Commissioner Sonam Chombay noted that once operational, these projects will generate Rs 58.25 crore annually in free power revenue. During the event, the Deputy CM honored Devi Energies Andhra Pradesh for the Dikshi HEP (24 MW) in West Kameng and Raajratna Energy Holdings for the Khangtang HEP (7.5 MW) in Tawang.
