Ashok Leyland Drives into Andhra: New Bus Plant Opens!

Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Mallavalli Model Industrial Park near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

The plant, formally opened by Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT and Education, Nara Lokesh, spans 75 acres and will focus on producing BS-VI compliant buses. In its initial phase, the facility is expected to create 600 jobs, with an additional 1,200 employment opportunities in the second phase.

With an annual production capacity of 4,800 buses, the plant represents a significant investment in the state’s industrial growth. It will also support body-building operations for electric buses, reinforcing Ashok Leyland’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
