Ashok Leyland x VRL Logistics: A 715-Vehicle Milestone

Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has secured a major order for 715 vehicles from VRL Logistics, one of the country’s prominent logistics operators.

The order includes AVTR 3120 haulage trucks, BOSS 1615 trucks, and Oyster staff buses, further strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two companies. The development also reinforces Ashok Leyland’s position as a preferred provider of commercial mobility solutions in India.

Deliveries are already in progress, with 300 vehicles handed over to VRL Logistics so far, while the remaining 415 units are expected to be delivered within the current year.

Commenting on the partnership, VRL Logistics Managing Director Dr. Anand Sankeshwar said the company continues to place strong trust in Ashok Leyland’s product quality, reliability, and performance. He highlighted the manufacturer’s robust after-sales support and expanding service network as key operational advantages. “This new order for 715 vehicles represents a strategic expansion of our partnership aimed at improving logistics efficiency,” he said.

He further noted that the collaboration, driven by Ashok Leyland’s focus on innovation and VRL Logistics’ transportation expertise, is expected to contribute to sustained operational growth and efficiency.

Ashok Leyland’s National Sales Head – MHCV, Madhavi Deshmukh, said the order reflects the confidence VRL Logistics has in the company’s technology and vehicle performance. She added that both companies have worked closely over the years to develop solutions tailored to the evolving requirements of the logistics industry.

She also reaffirmed Ashok Leyland’s commitment to delivering advanced, safe, and efficient mobility solutions that align with changing customer needs.

The vehicles supplied under the order are equipped with advanced technologies aimed at improving reliability and operational efficiency. These features are expected to reduce maintenance downtime and unplanned stoppages while enhancing fleet uptime, productivity, and overall performance for VRL Logistics.

The latest transaction highlights the decades-long association between Ashok Leyland and VRL Logistics, bringing together the strengths of a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and one of India’s largest surface transportation companies.
