Assam's Quality Leap: Auriga's Double Deal Boosts Industry.

Auriga Research has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance quality assurance and regulatory compliance in Assam’s food, pharmaceutical, and tea industries. The agreements, made with the Government of Assam and the Tea Research Association (TRA) during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, aim to boost global competitiveness and support industry growth.

As part of the initiative, Auriga Research will establish an advanced testing laboratory in Guwahati or Dibrugarh for food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, Ayurveda, and medical devices. Expected to be operational within nine months, the facility will cater to both domestic and export-driven businesses, ensuring compliance with national and international quality standards.

Additionally, a dedicated MoU with TRA will upgrade Assam’s tea testing infrastructure. Assam, which accounts for nearly 50% of India’s tea exports, faces challenges in affordable, high-quality testing, especially for small growers and Bought Leaf Factories (BLFs). The collaboration aims to provide cost-effective solutions for regulatory compliance, helping the tea industry meet international standards and expand into key markets such as the EU, US, and Middle East.

The Assam government will facilitate policy support, fast-track clearances, and seamless implementation, aligning with its Ease of Doing Business framework. Auriga Research will also work with TRA to train tea farmers, implement structured quality monitoring, and support the region’s food processing industries.
