Avaada Energy's 1,400 MW Solar Expansion Lights Up Rural India

Avaada Energy has recently expanded its presence in the solar energy sector by acquiring approximately 1,400 MW in solar energy projects through recent tenders initiated by central and state government agencies in India.

The company has successfully secured capacities of 421 MW, 280 MW, and 700 MW in tenders issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), respectively. These projects are strategically located in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Expected to be completed within a 24-month timeframe, these projects signify a significant addition to Avaada's extensive portfolio, which now encompasses six GW of projects under various stages of development, supplementing its operational capacity of 4.1 GW.

Moreover, these newly acquired solar installations are projected to generate an estimated annual output of approximately 2,410 million units of renewable energy. This energy production is poised to provide electricity to over 1.72 million rural households across the country while contributing to a reduction of approximately 2.24 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
