Avaada Group has signed an agreement with the Government of Bihar to develop 1 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy capacity in the state, with a planned investment of ₹5,000 crore. The project will include a mix of ground-mounted, floating, and community solar power plants, as well as battery energy storage systems.
The agreement was formalized between the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) and Avaada Energy CEO Kishor Nair, in the presence of Bihar’s Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Industries Minister Nitish Mishra.
The initiative is expected to create 500 direct jobs and contribute significantly to Bihar’s clean energy transition. Production is slated to begin within two years, contingent on the execution of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and the allocation of suitable land or water bodies by the state government.
Aligned with Bihar’s vision to strengthen its renewable energy infrastructure, the project aims to improve energy access, ensure sustainability, and drive industrial and economic growth. Avaada reaffirmed its commitment to delivering innovative, scalable clean energy solutions that empower local communities and support a greener future.
